All About Pepper

I love Pepper and her breed and this is why: The Border Collie is well known as the world’s smartest dog, also a devout and steady companion, and a great farm and family dog as well!

Pepper was born in  California to ranchers who used her 1220170907-1~3 - Copy (2)Border Collie parents to herd their hundreds of goats. When Pepper was just a pup, she was traumatized  by a sheep, so we never trained her to herd.  Border Collies usually make very good herd dogs!  Pepper is about 18 inches tall, and a brindle Border Collie which is very rare because most Border Collies are black, and white, and she is pretty small, also she has brown spots on her stockings, and nose! 🙂

Pepper is very smart, athletic, and also very sweet.  But the problem with having a smart dog is they can be tricky to contain!  When she was kenneled at night, we would wake to find her outside her pen.  How did she do it?  Finally we witnessed her popping on top of the wall, and walking like a cat to an opening, happily hopping down to the door!  Clever girl!  Pepper is very good at catching gophers.  Even when it snows and crusts over with ice, she will cock her head to hear just where the little nuisance is, pounce on the snow to break the crust, and catch the gopher!  Well, Pepper is happy, willing, and beautiful, and that is why I like her and her breed! 🙂

THANK YOU
